All identified courses address all standards as outlined by Massachusetts State Frameworks.
If a student has not successfully met the CD requirement by fall of the student’s senior year, the student may request a CD appeal through a request in writing to the high school principal. The appeal will be adjudicated by the District through a transcript and records review including documentation of any special circumstances within 30 business days.
Students with disabilities and English Language Learners will be provided appropriate accommodations in alignment with accommodations received during the school year.
Late enrolling students who do not have the opportunity to meet the CD requirement are eligible for a District appeal through a transcript and records review including documentation of any special circumstances.
If no records or transcripts are available for review, the district may use MCAS scores to determine competency in this limited circumstance.
Former students who have not yet earned a CD and who would like to earn a high school diploma may request a transcript review for Competency Determination eligibility in writing to the high school principal. The appeal will be adjudicated by the District through a transcript and records review including documentation of any special circumstances within 30 business days. If the student meets both local graduation requirements and the CD requirement, a high school diploma will be issued at the next semester break.
Program of Studies
Students are placed in course levels based on a variety of data. Students are not locked into a level of courses, but we encourage students to enroll in an appropriate but challenging level of coursework.
