Guidance Events

Counselors provide workshops in classrooms as well as individual meetings. In addition, the guidance department offers special events. These events include:

  • Juniors interested in taking the ASVAB, the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test should stop by guidance as soon as possible to collect the parent permission form. The ASVAB measures developed abilities, helps predict future academic success, and determines qualification for enlistment in the United States armed forces.

  • Freshmen have the opportunity to hear about many different careers from a variety of professionals in the field.

  • Prospective employers will be at Minuteman to meet with students in April/May.

  • More than 50 colleges and universities are invited to attend. Follow the Guidance calendar for details.

  • Held in late winter/early spring. We present information that will help parents as their students start to navigate the post-secondary, college and career exploration process.

  • During the spring, several local colleges come to Minuteman to evaluate college applications. Students are given a decision about admissions at that time.

  • Information presented will help parents as their students navigate the post-secondary, college and job application process.
