Robotics & Automation

Robotics and Automation is a rapidly growing field which combines elements of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and programming. It includes the design, implementation, configuration, operation, programming, maintenance and repair of intelligent machines. Robotic systems are utilized for many applications in manufacturing and assembly, defense, space and underwater exploration, disaster relief as well as many newly emerging service applications.

This Minuteman program teaches the theory of engineering concepts while providing students with hands-on experience with modern state of the art equipment including programming logic controllers, industrial assembly robots and VEX® mobile robots. In addition, student will also utilize industry-standard software tools like Multisim®, SolidWorks®, and the AutoDesk® suite of programs. During their time in the Robotics and Automation program, students complete courses designed by Project Lead the Way which can result in semester credits at Rochester Institute of Technology and other universities. Students will also have the opportunity to compete in numerous SkillsUSA competitions at the district, state, and national level.
