Cosmetology

All cosmetology students work in The Salon at Minuteman!

Cosmetology is the study of all phases of hair, nail and skin care. Students learn basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, proper work habits, and desirable attitudes necessary to obtain licensure.

This career major will prepare students for entry-level positions in cosmetology or a related career field. The mission of the Cosmetology major is to develop professionals with a creative flair for hair and fashion combined with a strong personal commitment and a sense of professional ethics.

Students will graduate fully prepared to pass both the written and practical state board operators exam. This license will provide individuals with career opportunities such as color and highlighting specialists, perm technicians, platform artists, hair stylists, manicurists, makeup artists, desairologists and educators.
