LEXINGTON – Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022 – Minuteman Regional Technical High School is a finalist to receive $20,000 from the “Sustaining Futures, Raising Communities” charitable giveaway contest from Saint-Gobain North America – and we’re asking for your vote!
The funds would support the development of a rooftop garden that would be developed and maintained by students in the Horticulture and Plant Science career major. The garden would produce fruits and vegetables with the goal of donating many of the items to non-profit organizations that help people experiencing food insecurity.

Minuteman is one of 11 finalists from Massachusetts to receive a combined $250,000 in funding; a total of nine winners will be selected. Voting is open now through Tuesday, October 18. We encourage everyone in the Minuteman community to cast their votes today!
“This potential funding would provide our Horticulture students an exciting and fulfilling learning opportunity,” said Dr. Kathleen A. Dawson, Superintendent-Director of Minuteman. “It will allow our students to embark upon a sustainable project that is good for the environment, the school, and people experiencing food insecurity in our local communities.”
