Minuteman students awarded medals at the SkillsUSA Massachusetts Fall Conference

LEXINGTON – Monday, November 28, 2022 – All of the Minuteman High School students who participated in the recent SkillsUSA Fall State Leadership Conference received awards in their respective categories.

SkillsUSA is a national organization that teaches workplace, personal, and technical skills to high school and post-secondary students.

The students from Minuteman were honored with awards for demonstrating skills in their respective career technical education areas and the SkillsUSA framework.

  • Daniel Cook of Arlington, grade 12, in the Programming and Web Development major, received a gold medal for a presentation on workplace skills, and a bronze medal for his team’s project display.
     
  • Leah Schneyer-Van Zile of Arlington, grade 9, received a gold medal for her team’s project display in the personal skills category. She was also named most valuable player for her team.
     
  • Cole Traywick of Acton, grade 12, Automotive Technology, earned a gold medal for his project display in the technical skills category. He was also named most valuable player for his team.
     
  • Arianna Ciampa of Arlington, grade 11, Programming and Web Development, received a silver medal for her team’s presentation in the personal skills category.
     
  • Felix Nelson of Arlington, grade 10, Environmental Science; and Zoya Estabrook of Acton, grade 10, Animal Science, and their team earned a silver medal for their presentation in the workplace skills category. Nelson additionally received a leadership award.
     
  • Gavin O’Brien of Arlington, grade 12, Environmental Science, earned a silver medal for his team’s presentation in the personal skills category. O’Brien also received a leadership award.
     
  • Kaytaki Pathak of Arlington, grade 10, Environmental Science; and Camille White of Boxborough, grade 11, Biotechnology, received bronze medals for their presentation and participation in a community service project, building corn hole game boards for the Hopkinton YMCA.
