Greetings New Students & Families!

I hope this note finds you healthy, safe, and eager to start the 2022-2023 school year. Welcome to Minuteman and know we feel excited to begin your high school journey with you! Everyone who chooses Minuteman shines with a revolutionary spirit, and we know your character, personality, and talents will brighten the lives of the Minuteman community.

This year we welcome Dr. Kathleen A. Dawson as our new Superintendent. Dr. Dawson comes to us with vast experience designing educational programs that bolster results, making her the perfect fit for Minuteman, because we are driven by results and ready to realize more. Dr. Dawson and you are both new to Minuteman, giving you a special bond that should propel us forward in the coming years.

Each morning, I drive past many schools, but Minuteman is the only place I want to work because the students and teachers create a revolution in learning. We aspire to meet challenging goals and then work hard to achieve them. Whether they drive over an hour to get here like me, or live nearby, all of us choose to be here to pursue our passion, and that commonality makes our unity unique.

In a few short days, that journey to graduation begins in earnest. The remainder of this message will highlight some important information, but more details will be sent in a series of emails in the coming days.

  • Monday, August 29th is our New Student Orientation with a 12:30 PM dismissal time. Students will meet their academic teachers, become acquainted with returning student leaders, listen to various speakers, take a school ID photo, and receive their school-issued laptop. The first full day of school for all students (grades 9-12) will be Tuesday, August 30th.
  • You can now enter our Aspen portal to view student schedules. Credentials and log-in information will be emailed under separate cover.
  • Bus routes will be posted on our website by Wednesday, August 24th. You will receive an email when this information is available.
  • Sports teams have also started practicing. If you need more information about fall sports, visit:
  • Fresh Picks Café now manages our Food Service Program. This is a local company that provides wholesome, quality meals. Along with a revitalized menu, they use a variety of technology for greater convenience.
  • Our 2022-23 school calendar and daily class schedules are now posted on our website.
  • Supply List: A suggested supply list for students is on our website.
  • Please bookmark and for easy access to links you will frequently use.

Finally, as a reminder, students who feel sick should stay home. If you test positive for COVID-19, you cannot come to school for the first five days, and you are required to wear a mask indoors for the following five days. We all play a role in helping to stop the spread of the coronavirus and other illnesses. Visit for more information.

We look forward to working with our new students and families. Thank you for choosing Minuteman and please keep checking your email for important updates and details.
