Welcome Message from School Building Committee Chair

Welcome to the Minuteman School Building Committee website. All the information related to the Minuteman School Building Project may be found here. All information generated prior to May 1, 2017 can be found in our archive. This includes engineering and technical reports, budget reports, correspondence, legal opinions, and records of meetings accumulated over a period of 8-9 years.

Building Construction: We are currently in the MSBA Module 8 of their project funding process.  The new Minuteman building opened its doors to students on September 3, 2019 and we hosted our Grand Opening celebration on October 4, 2019, attended by District community leaders, friends State officials and students and faculty.

Our new educational facility was designed to meet the career and technical education needs of our District as outlined in the Education Program Plan.

Athletic Complex: Kastle Boos & Associates, our project Architects, has designed a full athletic complex for the Lexington side of the campus. This full design will be the future Minuteman outdoor athletic complex.  Because of current funding constraints the Minuteman School Committee set a budget to move forward of $5.9 million dollars for Phase One on June 23, 2020. After soliciting several bids, the School Committee voted to move forward with construction in October 2020. The planned completion date is October 2021.

Thumbnail Facts: Read the thumbnail facts about the project here.

Site and Design: The Architect's presentation to the School Building Committee on July 24, 2017 on the New Minuteman Vocational Technical High School can be seen here.

Our Design and Construction Team:  Skanska, USA is our Owners Project Manager; Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc. is our Architect, and Gilbane Building Company is our General Contractor, hired under the Construction Manager at Risk contract. This team completed the construction process a year ahead of schedule and within budget.

I hope your review of the School Building Committee website will be helpful. I recommend reading the MSBA Modules Overview to better understand the process that must be followed in order to receive the MSBA reimbursement. Thank you for your interest and consideration of this important project for our future students and our communities. If you have questions, feel free to contact me by email.

Sincerely,

Ford Spalding, Chair
