Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical School District
The Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical School District has nine member towns effective July 1, 2020: Acton, Arlington, Bolton, Concord, Dover, Lancaster, Lexington, Needham, and Stow.
The District oversees one high school and one adult workforce development learning program:
- Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical High School, which is also known as Minuteman High School -- a public school for grades 9-12.
- Minuteman Technical Institute (MTI), which provides career technical education for adults. MTI operates in the Minuteman High School building in the evenings.
Minuteman High School follows its Admissions Policy and Regional Agreement when enrolling students. Student applicants living in the member towns have first priority for admission. The District also has a long tradition of accepting students from non-member cities and towns. For more information, visit our Admissions page.
The school is governed by a District School Committee, which includes members from each of the District’s member towns. That Committee adopts an annual budget, sets policy for the District, and hires a Superintendent who oversees day-to-day operations.
About Minuteman High School
Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical High School, which is commonly known as Minuteman High School, is an award-winning public high school in Lexington, Massachusetts, on a 65-acre campus that is located within the towns of Lexington and Lincoln. The school's address is 758 Marrett Road, Lexington, MA 02421.
Minuteman's name and identity honor the American colonists who fought the first battles of the Revolutionary War in the towns of Lexington and Concord. Minuteman is located close to the historical battle sites and is across the road from the Minute Man National Park.
Minuteman High School focuses on academics and career technical education (CTE). Minuteman offers students 19 CTE majors that are organized by the Academy Model, which encourages integration of teaching and learning among different CTE and academic subjects. The high school offers 14 sports teams and 20 clubs and activities.
In 2020, Minuteman won the Massachusetts Reading Association Award -- marking the first time any high school won the award in the state. The association cited Minuteman's deep integration of literacy across academic and career technical education disciplines over the previous decade.
In 2018, Minuteman was one of only three high schools in Massachusetts to receive the National Blue Ribbon Award from the U.S. Department of Education. Minuteman was cited for making significant gains in closing achievement gaps.
Minuteman has stood out as a high-achieving school on annual accountability rankings from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for the past several years. Its 2021 designation was "Substantial Progress Toward Targets."
Minuteman has a significant rate of success for its graduates. Typically, more than 90% of students secure a college or career placement within a few weeks of graduation if not earlier.
