    Dear Minuteman Students,

Covid-19 has been really hard for everyone, but especially for people who don’t have enough food. We thought it would be nice for our school to do something to help our communities.  Below is a list of non-profit organizations that help get food to people who need it.  If you are able to donate food, personal items, or money to help them, it would be a really nice thing for our school to do.

According to Project Bread, one in 11 Massachusetts households faced hunger before Covid-19, which amounted to 9% of residents.  As of March, data shows that 38% of people in the state are now food insecure.  The freshman class had been hoping to have an ice cream fundraiser this spring, but now it feels more important to support people in our neighborhoods who need help.

Below are the names and links to food pantries in many Minuteman towns.  We hope you will do whatever you can, and we would love for you to share what you are doing.  You can post a video clip of how you are helping and view what others are doing on this Flipgrid: https://flipgrid.com/volunteer2020. Please make sure you are holding your phone horizontally and that log into Flipgrid using your Minuteman.org email account.

    Thanks.  Stay healthy.
