Notification 28: January 3, 2018
Anticipated winter weather conditions will requrie snow remonval on the site so that the crew can continue its work on schedule. Snow removal operations may begin prior to 7:00 am, as conditions warrant.
Notification 27: December 8, 2017Accumulated snow is expected on Saturday 12.9.17, and the weather will be monitored. If the storm comes in as expected, Dow will be plowing the site on Sunday morning after 7:00 am to prep the site for Monday.Notification 26: December 7, 2017
Our catch-up plan requires that we will work on Saturdays through January, weather permitting. The hours of work will be between 7:00 am - 3:00 pm. Progress to date: The concrete is in, backfill is occurring, and crushing operation has ended. The cranes are anticipated to be on site on the 14th in advance of the steel delivery on the 18th of December. Work was done on the site on Saturday December 2, 2017 from 7 AM-3PM. Crews worked on stripping forms, and forming and reinforcing footings and foundations in Areas G, C & D. There was no rock crushing operation.Notification 24: November 20, 2017The Dow Company, Beacon Waterproofing, and S&F Concrete worked on Saturday November 18, 2017 from 7AM-3PM moving ledge, waterproofing at Area C, and stripping forms, doing form work and rebar work at Area C. There was no rock crushing operation.
Notification 23: November 3, 2017
There will be a crew on the site tomorrow, Saturday November 4, 2017 from 7AM -3 PM. S&F Concrete will be working on the lower level of Area C, installing rebar, formwork, and layout. Beacon Waterproofing will be installing waterproofing materials in the lower level orchestra pit. Gilbane will be onsite to oversee the work.Notification 22: October 27, 2017There will be work done at the site on Saturday October 28, 2017 from 7AM-3PM. The crew will be excavating at areas C and D, making structural fill, grading at area F, and bulldozing at the ledge pile. There will be no rock crushing activity.Notification 21: October 20, 2017There will be work done at the site on Saturday October 21, 2017 between the hours of 7AM-3PM. The Dow Company will continue excavation of footings and stepped footings at Area c, lower level. In addition, Dow will be performing the following work:
Bulldozer on the ledge pile to get ahead of crushing operations for the coming week. (No rock crusing is to be performed on Saturday.)
Operator on the structural fill crusher, producing material. This operation is located in teh existing track area.Fay & Wright will be onsite servicing the rock crushing equipment.Gilbane will be onsite to oversee this work.
Reminder: The Neighborhood Meeting is scheduled for Monday October 23, 2017 at 5:00 PM. Meet at Gate A, off of 2A entrance for a site walk.Notification 20: October 16, 2017The Dow Company worked Saturday 10/14/17 from 7 AM-3PM, crushing material, and S&F did layout at G building. Gilbane Building Co. was on site to oversee this work.
Notification 19: October 4, 2017There has been a change in the date of the next Neighborhood Meeting. The meeting scheduled for Tuesday October 10, 2017 at 5:30 pm has been rescheduled for Monday October 23, 2017 at 5:00 PM. There will be an opportunity to walk the site. We will meet at 5:00 pm at Gate A, right off Rt. 2A.
Notification 18: September 22, 2017The blasting operation on the construction site is complete.
The Dow Company will be working this Saturday 9/23/17 from 7AM - 3PM, to continue excavating and preparing for foundation work in Areas A and B. Gilbane Building Co. will be on site to oversee the work.Notification 17: September 15, 2017
There has been a change to the schedule for the remainder of this week. Baystate Blasting will be performing an additional blast today, Friday 9.15.17, between 2pm and 3pm. Additionally The Dow Company will be on site tomorrow, Saturday 9.16.17, from 7 am-3 pm for foundation preparation.Notification 16: September 13, 2017
Baystate Blasting will be extending their hours (from 3 to 5pm), starting today and for the remainder of this week, to assist with ledge drilling. These extended weekday hours will facilitate better monitoring of the progress and help us to determine whether this extended hour schedule will continue into next week. Gilbane Building Co. will be on site to oversee this work.
Due to the difficult terrain in the southern end of the site, with more rock than anticipated there, we need to extend the timeframe for blasting operations as well. We had said the blasting would be done by the end of this week; we now expect that the blasting will be complete by the end of September.
The anticipated blast schedule for next week, the week of 9/18/17, is as follows:
Tuesday and Thursday, with 1 blast per day between 2:30 and 3:30 pm.The next Neighborhood Meeting will be October 10, 2017 at 5:30 pm (changed from September 26, 2017 at 6:00 pm). We expect by then that there will be more information to update you on, as well as an opportunity to walk the site. We anticipate that the blasting will be complete by Friday 9/15/17.Bridge mobilization, previously scheduled to begin 9/4, has been moved to the week of 9/11/17.Notification 13: August 24, 2017The anticipated blasting schedule for the week of 8/28/17 is:
Tuesday and Thursday, with 2 blasts per day between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.We anticipate that blasting will end during the week of 9/11/17.Blast readings have been monitored. Massachusetts State Law: The maximum allowable limits for Seismic Activity is 2.0 and Db level is 133; all readings are well below the allowable limits.Bridge and crushing operations are expected to begin during the week of 9/4/17.
Foundation concrete operations are expected to begin 9/18/17.Crane arrival and assembly and steel are expected around 12/1/17.Next Neighborhood Meeting is scheduled for 9/26/17. This date may change, depending on site work, as a site walk may be possible. Notice to confirm will be sent closer to the date.

Notification 11: August 15, 2017The Superintendent will hold a neighborhood update meeting on Tuesday August 22, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the Paul Revere Room at Minuteman High School. This will be an opportunity to receive an update on construction progress and for the Project Team to address concerns.

Update on Blasting Operations
Now that Baystate has a feel for the ledge conditions onsite, their blasting schedule is being revised. Instead of daily blasting at specific times, Baystate now anticipates blasting only 2-3 days a week, with 2 blasts per day between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. While this may be subject to change as things progress, Baystate's tentative schedule for the week of August 7 is to blast on Tuesday and Friday.Notification 8: August 2, 2017
Update on Blasting Operations
Today was the beginning of the blasting portion of the site work. You may have heard the first blast that went off about 11:30 AM. Seismic equipment has been set up at 3 houses along Mill Street, and will be checked daily to track impact and provide the contractor with information to modify the process as needed. The 2nd blast today will be closer to 3:45 PM. This is a bit out of the range of time we specified earlier.

Update on Blasting Operations
All required and requested pre-blast surveys have been completed by Falvey Associates. Baystate Blasting has confirmed the start date for their activities as follows:
- Drilling activities to commence on Monday July 31, 2017
- Blasting activities to commence on Wednesday August 2, 2017
- There will typically be two blasts per day: late morning (11:00 AM) and early afternoon (2:00 PM). The actual blasts will be announced by a sequence of audible whistles.
The main excavation operation is anticipated to take approximately 2 months. There may be intermittent activity required after the main excavation, based on actual subsurface conditions. Notifications will be sent to update progress. A uniformed fire detail from the Town of Lincoln Fire Department will be onsite during all blasting activities.

Saturday Tree Work
Dow/Cobb Tree will be working on Saturday July 15, 2017 from 7:00 AM-3:00 PM (one machine/one operator) to pick up tree limbs, etc. at the north side of the site, ahead of the excavations activities scheduled for Monday.

Tree cutting and clearing will begin on Monday July 10, 2017. It is anticipated that the duration of this work will be two weeks.

Blasting of ledge will be occurring on a portion of the site. All houses on Mill St. (and as requested) are encouraged to take advantage of a pre-blast inspection. Gilbane has contracted with Falvey Associates to conduct these inspections. To schedule your inspection, please contact John Roche at Gilbane (JRoche@GilbaneCo.com) and David Falvey at Falvey Associates (email@example.com). See notice from Falvey Associates; the deadline has been extended to July 1, 2017. If we don't hear from you by July 1, 2017, we will assume you have waived your right to a pre-blast inspection.
