Junior Parent College and Career Planning Guidance counselors meet with all students during their tenure at Minuteman. Counselors provide workshops in classrooms as well as individual meetings. In addition, the guidance department offers special events. These events include:
Senior Parent Orientation
The Senior Parent Orientation will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 8:00 am - 10:00 am in the Paul Revere Room. We present information that will help parents as their students navigate the post-secondary, college and job application process.College FairHeld in the fall. More than 50 colleges and universities are invited to attend. This year the fair will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in the IRC from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.ASVAB TestJuniors interested in taking the ASVAB, the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test should stop by guidance as soon as possible to collect the parent permission form. The ASVAB measures developed abilities, helps predict future academic success, and determines qualification for enlistment in the United States armed forces. The ASVAB test will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. in the Training Room.Boston National College FairThursday 4/12/18 & Friday 4/13/18. Juniors can sign up in the spring to go into Boston for a national college fair with more than 375 colleges.Career DayFreshmen have the opportunity to hear about many different careers from a variety of professionals in the field.Career FairProspective employers will be at Minuteman to meet with students in April/May 2018.Junior Parent College and Career PlanningHeld in late winter/early spring. We present information that will help parents as their students start to navigate the post-secondary, college and career exploration process.On the Spot AdmissionsDuring the spring, several local colleges come to Minuteman to evaluate college applications.
