About the District
Minuteman High School serves a geographically diverse district just west of Boston. Among its member towns are Concord and Lexington where American colonists fought the first battles of the Revolutionary War.
As of July 1, 2017, the District will include ten member towns: Acton, Arlington, Belmont, Bolton, Concord, Dover, Lancaster, Lexington, Needham, and Stow.
While students from member towns enjoy first priority for admission to Minuteman, the District also has a decades-long tradition of accepting students from non-member cities and towns throughout Greater Boston.
The school is governed by a District School Committee that includes members from each of the District’s member towns. That Committee adopts an annual budget, sets policy for the District, and hires a Superintendent who oversees day-to-day operations.
The District’s legal name is the Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical School District, though most people simply refer to both the school – and the District – as Minuteman.
