Introduction
This is a partial list of some of the best resources available for teachers and parents interested in brain-compatible teaching and learning.
Catalogs &/or Web Sites
Two ways to keep current are to subscribe to free annual catalogs and to bookmark relevant web sites that constantly make new materials on brain-compatible teaching and accelerated learning available. Here are some (again, not all) of the useful resources:
- THE BRAIN STORE catalog is available from www.thebrainstore.com or by telephoning (800) 325-4769. This San Diego source established by Eric Jensen can also supply information on his outstanding workshops presented at various sites around the nation and on The Annual Brain Expo usually held in San Diego and San Antonio.
- THE ZEPHYR CATALOG is available from www.zephyrpress.com or by telephoning (800) 232-2147. Zephyr Press is located in Tucson, Arizona. Like #1 above, it is an excellent source of K-12 material.
- THE SKYLIGHT CATALOG is available from www.skylightedu.com/ or by telephoning (800) 348-4474. Skylight Professional Development in Arlington Heights, Illinois, offers a strong K-12 catalog and on-line courses and extensive professional development services.
Update, August of 2003
Catalog:
The KAGAN CATALOG is available from www.KaganOnline.com or by telephoning (800) 933-2667. The Kagan Publishing & Professional Development catalog is especially strong on materials for cooperative learning, using multiple intelligences, structures or task suggestions, and an outstanding series of SMART CARDS. We listed just some of the latter in our more general teacher card series. Kagan also provides many fine professional development programs.
