Daily Announcements are posted for one week, Monday through Friday. The current day is posted first followed by previous days in that week.

Daily Announcements - Friday, May 23, 2008
  • There will be a brief meeting of the Drama Club immediately after homeroom today.  All Drama Club members should report to room 2N41 to see Mr. Donovan immediately after homeroom.
  • Congratulations to the Varsity softball team on completing their season with a record 15-5.  For the second year in a row, the girls were champions of the CAC league, this year splitting the title with North Shore.
  • With first place came the honor of nominating four All-Stars for this year’s game.  Sarah Nichols, Jess Williams, Becky Rowe, and Dianna Willms will be representing Minuteman this year.  Minuteman will also be hosting the All-Star game this year on June 4th at 3:00 p.m. 
  • The team will be starting tournament play next week.  Stay tuned for details so we can go out and support the team.
  • Reminder to all baseball players that your team room lockers must be cleaned out by 2:00 this afternoon.  Anything remaining in the lockers after that time will be disposed of.  Please see Coach Carey today if you still need to clean out your baseball locker.
  • In classic Mustang _Never Say Die” style, the varsity baseball team won their last two games of the season.  In Wednesday’s game, Jim Botting pitched a one hit shut-out against Notre Dame.  The bats of Dustin Fitch, Collen Donaghue, and Tom DiPaolo lead the attack.
  • In Thursday’s win against upper division Greater Lawrence, Josh Baranofski pitched a complete game with 8 strikeouts.  Brad Lowe went two for three with a triple and Mike Jagger had the walk off hit to end the game 6 to 5.
  • Coach DiPaolo and Coach Carey would like to thank the players for a good season this year.
  • Congratulations to senor Aki Oshiro and Junior Jon Franco Barretto for winning the boy’s doubles championship in the Commonwealth Conference Tennis Tournament.  The victory is the first doubles championship by a Minuteman pair in the past 23 years!!  Aki and Jon Franco will be honored next Wednesday at the CAC Tennis Banquet.  Congratulations again to Minuteman’s two champions. .
  • Attention all students on the Principal student Advisory Committee – there is a meeting Tuesday, May 27th at 2:30 in the Library.  This is the year end wrap up meeting.  Please attend.  Thank you.
  • As a friendly reminder, May 14th through June 4th is the statewide spring “Click it or Ticket” Campaign.  Please be aware that police will be conducting extra traffic enforcement during this period with special emphasis on seatbelt use.  Please remember to buckle up.  It may just save your life.
  • SADD is sponsoring Everyone to Make Promise Bead Bracelets or pins.  You make one and give it to a friend – to promise to be safe during prom and graduation season.
  • Spring Sports Banquet – June 2nd at 6:30 p.m. in the café.  All spring athletes and parents invited.  Dinner will be served, donated by the MPA.  Thank you MPA!!
  • The Junior Prom is May 30th.  Get your ticket this week during lunch or see Mr. Donato or Mrs. Lambrinos in the Dean’s Office.  Don’t miss out on a great high school experience.

  • Please dismiss the varsity softball team today at 1:30.  They will be traveling to Rockport to take on the Vikings for their last regular season game.  All players are to report to the locker room at dismissal.
  • Please dismiss the Minuteman Tennis Team today at 12:30 for the League Tournament Championships at Greater Lowell.  A list of the participating team members can be found in the teacher’s mailbox area and also in the Dean’s office.
  • A reminder to all SkillsUSA state medalists.  There is a congratulatory luncheon in the restaurant today at 11:30 for all SkillsUSA state medalists.
  • Congratulations to Tom DiPaolo for being voted CAC All-Star in baseball..

  • Please join us in congratulating Merisa Shock, Junior Orne, Alice Ofria, Shatwuan Lewish, and Kevin Fitzgerald for successfully completing the RYLA weekend.  These five students were chosen to participate because of their demonstrated leadership potential and positive community awareness.  They grew their leadership skills by practicing goal-setting, communication, influence, problem -solving and teamwork.  Please see any of these students or Evan Diamond to learn more.
