Culinary Arts

Minuteman Culinary Arts

The Minuteman Culinary Art program is composed of three areas; an award winning bakery, an extremely popular restaurant, and an industry level skill kitchen. Each area is taught by an instructor with over twenty-five years experience. Our goal is to prepare students to excel in the food service industry. We realize that students need technical skills, computer skills, academic skills and industry skills. Our focus is to train valued employees.

An overview of the three areas:

The Bakery - Over the years Mr. Myerow has trained many Skills USA National bakery winners. These have been students that have proven themselves to be better than any other baker in the United States! Quite a feat!
The Restaurant - The Restaurant is often over booked! A testimony to the fine cuisine that the students prepare under the tutelage of Chef Joseph Pitta. Reservations are strongly advised, 781 861 6500 ext 270.
The Skill Kitchen - is an area that teaches related skills using hands on, brain compatible, tactile methodology. Students learn entrepreneur, OSHA, ServSafe (sanitation) and related theory skills. Students are challenged to demonstrate mastery of each area by creating a product. Students not only rise to the challenge, but exceeded expectations.
RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT

As part of the rapidly expanding service industry, Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management are areas where well-paying jobs are available throughout the country. Students majoring in this field at Minuteman Regional High School operate a public restaurant and public bakery.

Certification is available to graduates in 30 specific job skills that cover hotels, restaurants, bakeries, hospitals, private clubs, airlines, cruise ships, resorts and nursing care facilities. A number of graduates go on to two- or four-year colleges for training as chefs or managers. The course English for the Entrepreneur is highly recommened. Course content all years - Total Quality Management.
