Cosmetology

Cosmetology is a promising field for people who want to go into business for themselves. It is also a creative field where the work takes place in pleasant surroundings and in close contact with people. At Minuteman Regional High School cosmetology students receive the 1,000 hours of instruction which they need to qualify to take the state licensing examination for employment as a cosmetologist. An option is also available for students to complete the 300 hours needed to become a licensed esthetician.

Students majoring in cosmetology must have controlled finger dexterity and the ability to do precise work. Good human relations skills are also very important. The course English for the Entrepreneur is highly recommened.
