The girls’ cross country team should be the best in school history. Last year’s team finished 11th at the state vocational championships, and this year’s team hopes to improve upon that.

  • Returning runners: Hailey Callahan, senior captain from Concord, MA; Nicoleta Koha, senior from Lexington; Chrissy Andrews, sophomore from Arlington.
  • New runners: senior Becky Rowe, Arlington; junior Diana Willms, Arlington; sophomores Krissy Mikoski, Stow; and Sarah West, Waltham.
  • The boys’ team has a small group of strong.
  • Leading the team is Tyler Faulkner of Concord, who recently set the course record and should compete for the state vocational championship and the Commonwealth Lower Conference Championship.
  • Seniors James Logue of Watertown and Ben Warren of Arlington have been Minuteman’s second and third runners in early season races.
  • Newcomers include: Senior Leo Jordan and Junior Micah Trembly, both from Arlington.
  • This year’s freshman boys are the most promising group in recent memory, including Joey DeBassio of Ayer; Corey Lloyd; Brendan Faulkner of Concord; Kevin Dowling of Stoneham; Kevin McLeish of Tewksbury; and Dylan Hentchel of Concord.
  • The boys’ team was moved into the Commonwealth Lower Conference, where they expect to be competitive with all of the other schools.
