Brian, who already was in charge of the Mustangs' wrestling and boys' lacrosse programs, was recently named Minuteman's varsity football coach. He is taking over a team that went 2-9 last fall and has only won one league game in the past three years.
Minuteman is a member of the CAC Small Division in football. "I'm excited about the opportunity, but there is a lot of work that needs to be done," said Tildsley, who graduated from Wilmington High in 1994.
Brian is the Dean of Students at Minuteman. He has talked to his uncle, Jim Tildsley, the highly successful girls basketball coach at Andover High, about joining his staff. Jim Tildsley was an assistant football coach at Wilmington when Brian played for the Wildcats.
Last fall, Tildsley was a freshman coach on Shawsheen Tech's football staff. He has a great deal of admiration for the way Al Costabile runs the Rams' program and plans on using that as his blue print for rebuilding the Mustangs' program.
