The Special Theory of Relativity
An E-Learning Introduction
|
Albert Einstein published his Special Theory of Relativity in 1905. However, many of the predictions resulting from the theory are still either not known or not accepted by the average man-in-the-street. Surprisingly enough, this lack of recognition is not really the result of a general inability to comprehend Einsteins work. More often, it is the result of the predictions being very different from what one expects on the basis of his own experience and common sense. Since time and tests have repeatedly verified Einsteins predictions, we can all profit from the lesson that common sense can be wrong.
This program describes some of the important parts of the Special Theory of Relativity. Study it carefully. When you have finished, perhaps you will begin to look at the physical world around you in a more comprehending way - - a relativistic way!
