Approach Rendering, KBA 2017
Welcome to the Minuteman School Building Committee website. All the information related to the Minuteman School Building Project may be found here. All information generated prior to May 1, 2017 can be found in our Archive
. This includes engineering and technical reports, budget reports, correspondence, legal opinions, and records of meetings accumulated over a period of 7-8 years.
Recent Project History
On January 28, 2016, the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) awarded the Minuteman School District a $45.2 million grant for our $144.9 million project.
On September 21, 2016, voters in our member towns overwhelmingly approved their share of the funding during a special District-wide referendum. (We are most appreciative, and extend our sincere thank you to the Minutemen District for that solid show of support.)
Following that vote, the Minutemen School Administration, School Building Committee, and Design Team has been working on MSBA Module 6 (Detailed Design). It is anticipated that Minuteman will proceed into Module 7 (Construction) in June of 2017.
Our Design and Construction Team
Skanska, USA is our Owners Project Manager; Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc. is our Architect, and Gilbane Building Company is our General Contractor, hired under the Construction Manager at Risk contract.
The Project Schedule
Our new educational facility is being designed to meet the career and technical education needs of our District and our future students. According to our anticipated schedule, construction will begin in June, 2017. We anticipate that Minuteman will open the new building for the academic year beginning in the Fall of 2019. At that time, the current building will be taken down, with project completion by October, 2020.
I hope your review of the School Building Committee website will be helpful. I recommend reading the MSBA Modules Overview
to bettter understand the process that must be followed in order to receive the MSBA reimbursement. Thank you for your interest and consideration of this important project for our future students and our communities. If you have questions, feel free to contact me by email
